Hi everyone,

I'm posting this with a heavy heart but with total honesty. You may have noticed that we haven't posted anything since the release of our last tutorial. There are 2 reasons, both of them medical:

a) Gen is pregnant with her 3rd child and is having a very rough first semester
b) I just got out or surgery for an appendectomy gone wrong.

So, in essence... we're taking a summer hiatus. We're not sure when things will get back to normal but feel free to browse through our blog for inspiration and ideas. Our store is still open if you want to purchase any of our tutorials as I will continue to monitor that.

Hi everyone,

I have a very quick project today. It's all about a pattern paper that makes a stand. Sometimes the background is so stunning that you don't really need a lot to decorate the card.

Oh, how I love these monkeys and trains! The format is 3 X 6 tall and the pattern paper is from a Basic Grey paper pad (Oliver).

For the embellishment, I stamped a big B with Versamark on colored CS and heat embossed with clear EP. I typed the sentiment, printed it on my computer, punched it out then stuck it underneath the letter. I adhered the embellishment with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Today I needed to make a happy new home card. After looking for my "good neighbor" stamp set from Stampin Up! for a least half an hour, I had to come up with a plan B... And there was my 1" square punch to the rescue...

Hi everyone,

Today's project was made out of an urgent need. My 3 years old son really has trouble getting asleep, He is not scared, he doesn't scream or comes downstairs, he just stays in his bed and plays with whatever or he sings quietly, whispers to his bunny... the fact is that he just don't fall asleep before he was for 2h in his bed so about at 9h30 or 10h even if he s in bed since 7h30.We have a very constant bedtime routine and we tried lots of different things, staying in the doorway watching, taking all his toys away from his room, putting him into bed only at 9h30-10hish, putting music, letting him read and since nothing worked, now we're trying this, a little calendar where he is going to draw by himself a happy face if he fell asleep fast or a sad face if he had more trouble to get asleep with a wonderful prize at the end...

The patterned paper is from 3 bugs in a rug "snips and snails" collection and I used whisper white, not quite navy and baja breeze to complete my project.

I drew the first two night for him and then he's the one doing them...

I'm sure you want to know what's the BIG prize... Well, for those of you who doesn't know already, I'm pregnant with my 3rd child and since William has shown a very big interest since we told him that there was a baby in Mommy's belly, we tought he would really appreciate to come to listen to the heartbeat and see the echography, and for now he his really motivated to show us own Big of a boy he is by learning to fall asleep faster... We'll see if it works...

Hi everyone,

Don't be fooled by the header of this post. This card is not a usual size...

It's a mini gift card measuring 3" X 3" . I love making mini cards. These could be given with a gift or placed next to a cupcake given for a special occasion. How fun would it be to put one of these tiny cards at each place setting for a birthday dinner?!

I couldn't help but decorate this inside with a tiny border strip and star.

Hi everyone,

Today I don't have a card for you but I 'll share our Father's day cakes with you.

Each father had it's very own little burger with a candle to blow While we all shared the big burger within kids and women.

It's a very easy cake to build, I made my favorite chocolate+ banana cake in a 9X13 pan and used it for the meat. My hot milk white cake was cooked in a bowl and then slice in two to make the bread. A little leftover fondant for the cheese, salad and ketchup and voilà.

So yummy !!

Hi everyone,

If one would ask me what my favorite card format is, I would answer 3" X 6" tall. And you can get 4 cards out of a piece of 12" X 12" CS. Not bad!

No need for sentiments... the DSP has them in profusion! Most of the supplies I used here comes from a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up!

I like to make my own glitter cardstock and this is what I used here to punch out the scallop circle. I also added a contour of faux-stitches on the present with a white gel pen, as well as a rhinestone.

The other card is using the same layout, but with a different color scheme.

And on this one, I used 2 lines of faux-stitching on the present. Because they are so simple to make, you can quickly produce 8 cards using only 2 sheets of 12X12 CS and 1 sheet of 12X12 DSP. Not a bad deal!

Hi everyone,

Here's a card for a bunch of celebrations : birthday, graduation, retirement, new career, etc...

I'd like to talk about anchoring here : visually, it's always more eye pleasing to anchor small embellishments to an existing element on your card. Notice how all 3 stars are touching the main sticker as well as the borders. That is called anchoring.

Another design practice is to draw the eye in a triangular pattern. On this card, the eyes go immediately to the main element because they are drawn to the three stars forming a triangle.

Hi everyone,

Wouldn't it be fun to have a real cupcake with diamonds on it?! Alright so I have a very fertile imagination. :-)

I made this cupcake by tracing over an empty shape left after I've removed the original die-cut sticker from the backing sheet. You can see how I did this here. Then I cut both shapes and matted them on white CS. Pretty simple.

The DSP had small dots on it so I simply hid them with rhinestones! Because of the color scheme, I wouldn't hesitate to send this to a guy as well.

My new photoshop friend

Hi everyone,

in order to get rid of all the post it and miscellenious papers I took notes on while learning photoshop, I made this. My new photoshop friend friend, a place where I can find everything I've learned at once. I used chipboard old SU! paper, simple white sheets and my bind-it-all, I kept the design very basic.

With the round tab punch I made some dividers for even efficiency.

I added crystal effect on all the die cut letters (Wingo Zingo alphabet from sizzix).

For those of you that can't read french: here's my little intro, to make sure I remember my begginings...

graduation card

Hi everyone,

I'm really loving playing with fonts and texts. This card boasts 3 different text elements.

I altered the main sentiment "Grad" with a stamped G from the Great Grads stamp set by Stampin' Up!, punched it out with a circle punch and adhered it over the orginal letter "g" with Stampin' Dimensionals. I love the effect.

The graduation cap was also part of the sentiment but I stamped it again on Riding Hood Red CS with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear EP. Then I mounted it over the original cap with foam adhesives.

I think this card could be given to either man or woman.

Pirates Arrrrr!

Hi everyone,

This is was I've been working on last 3 weekends...Our very own Pirate Play Ship:

My husband saw this play ground boat on the web and since he always wanted to be a pirate...We had to make one for the kids. The company called pirate play ships is located in the US so we couln'd affort them but by looking at their photos, I made my own plans and I 'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Here's the process:

Hi everyone,

I have a masculine card for you today. I call it masculine for its color scheme and black brads.

The DSP and sticker is from a retired Stampin' Up! Simply Scrappin' Kit. The big splash of color is the Riding Hood Red on which I've doodled faux sticking, dots and arrows.

The black bracket was originally baja breeze but I colored it with a black Copic marker.

My little sister's cake

Hi everyone,

Today I have a cake to show you, I made it last weekend for my sister birthday. My sister has Rett Syndrome a disorder of the nervous system that leads to developmental reversals, especially in the areas of expressive language and hand use. Some how a long time ago we decided we loved turtle, and since then, we always brought her turtle things. So my choice of cake design was obvious...

The cake was decorated with fondant and the precious help of some cookie cutters (eyes and flowers). Underneath all this fondant, is a thin coat of chocolate icing and a very tender banana cake. since I didn't have a lot of time I opted for a very simple version of the turtle : hidding.

Since I had some batter left I also made cupcakes with creamcheese chocolate frosting and a fondant flower exactly like the ones on the turtle.

She was really pleased with it

Hi everyone,

Recently was our dear friend Marie-Pierre birthday (see her awesome stuff here), so I made this card for her.

I know she really loves coloring and I really love those owls so took out my prismacolor and Gamsol and the colors from the patterned paper (basic grey olivia collection) and voilà!

If you look closely you will see the white "it's your birthday rub-on it's a little hidden by the busyness of the paper, but I still love it.

Hi everyone,

I have two cards for you today and no stamping! They're both made with self-adhesive die cuts... a great way to save on time.

The card base was hiding in my stash because it had been previously cut at the bottom and I wasn't using it because of that. So adding a scallop border solved the problem.

The "make a wish" was actually part of a border sticker but I cut it off and layered it over the two text circles. I love the layering of different fonts.

A bling can dress up the plainest of embellishments.

Here's the second card. Same layout, different embellishments.

I added a little star in the center of the "o" for added interest.

It's all in the details, right?!

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. The summer is almost here and that also means the end of school for many. Some will even graduate! Here's a card that can be adapted for various occasions, including a graduation.

I think the stars are very representative of someone who graduates, don't you think? To achieve this look, I layered 3 different borders from a retired Simply Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up! The sentiment was also part of a border but I doctored it to look like a banner.

I love these cute rectangular rhinestones but I wish I'd remember to save the packaging because I have no idea where they come from!

At the beginning of the month I showed you a layout of the carroussel of NY Central Park, I had so much fun doing it that I decided to do the whole trip with almost the same layout and to get a photo book printed at paperkiwi. I haven't received it yet but I will show you another double page.

Hi everyone,

Ever needed a last-minute card and wished you had something in your stash you could adapt for a special occasion or theme? Here's a trick: look at your left-over stash and find a group of coordinating die-cuts, pattern paper or any other like products and make it your goal to produce as many cards as possible with them. Try to keep those cards as generic as possible and when you're done put them in your stash. Then, when that last-minute request occurs you'll be ready!

That's exactly what this card is all about.

This is a very simple card but it'll work for either a man or a woman or even a teenager! I can see this being adapted for a graduation, retirement, promotion, new home, new car, etc... And by keeping the embellishments sober (no bling, no flower), it's gender neutral.

The die-cuts are from a retired Stampin' Up! kit I had in my stash. I quite like these little asymmetrical squares. It gives this plain card a little whimsy. Check out what you have in your stash and get to it!

Hi everyone,

Happy Tuesday. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Well soccer season has started so I thought I'd share another sports card with you. As with my card from last Thursday, the supplies are from Hot Off the Press.

The front of the card was trimmed by 1-1/4" at the bottom to expose the inside of the card. I love the printed twill ribbon. The soccer ball was not part of the kit; I printed it from my computer and punched it out with a circle punch.

I love when my cards are decorated inside. It adds such a nice touch.

The metal embellishment was a very bright (almost lime green) flag that didn't quite fit with the card so I altered it with alcohol inks, a Sharpie Poster marker and some brads. I quite like the result.

Hi everyone,

Today i decided to follow the same sketch as for tuesday wedding card. I simply changed the papers and stamp to get a baby boy card.

I just picked the onesie from the same stamp set as for the wedding cake : A slice of life from Stampin' Up!
Patterned papers are from SU! nursery suite. I used my blender and some ink to color the onesie.

As for wedding, stain ribbon is perfect for babies, it is just as soft as their skin.

Hi everyone,

Today's card is something I've never done: a sports-oriented theme. I was obviously lacking a stamp set so I turned to my stash of paper, and I found these:

All the embellishments and papers are part of monthly card kit I used to get in the mail from Hot Off the Press years ago. The engineering behind this card is actually quite brilliant but I wasn't too crazy about the quality of the papers and faded colors. So I matted the embellishments with red CS to make them pop and inked around the edges of the paper to give it depth.

The inside is also embellished with a tag.

I added some Enamel Accents on the file folder tabs to make it look like brads.

As you can see from this view, the right side of the card was cut about an inch to allow the inside to poke through, just like a file folder.

Wedding Cake

Hi everyone,

Today I have a weeding card for you, it is very clean and simple. I really love to use just a little bit of color in those card. The main color is always white or vanilla and then you use whatever color you feel like so easy.

Here's a little close-up of the cake from the level 1 hostess set form the last mini catalog called A Slice of Life. I just added a lilttle coloring with inks and my blender pen.

Playing with Elmer's Silicone Rubber Sealant

Hi everyone,

Quick post for you today. A few months ago, I bought this Silicone Rubber Sealant by Elmer's at the urge of my friend Angelle (go check her blog here). This stuff allows you to do 3-D embellishments on your card.

First, here's my card using a stamp from Inkadinkado. I love lighthouses; they fascinate me. I stamped it on a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock and added some white with a Prismacolor pencil.

So basically what that silicone allows to do is add curved embellishments on your project. You start by adding "globs" of this glue underneath your embellishment or fill the inside cavity to the brim kind of like filling a boat with water. The silicone dries hard while retaining its shape. The only drawback is that it takes a least a day to dry. But so worth it!

I also sponged Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight and White ink on the cardstock to give it a bit of shading as well as some Northern Lights embossing powder (source unknown). The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes by Stampin' Up!

father's day card

Hi everyone,

Soon, it will be time to think about Father's Day cards so I thought I'd show you my first one of the year.

This card was greatly inspired by one of Debbie Olson's who is one of my favorite card maker.

The background is a piece of Not Quite Navy CS from Stampin' Up! on which I stamped a ledger stamp from Tim Holtz. To add more dimension, I clear embossed the "original" stamp on the background which also ties in with the one stamped in Cajun Craze.

The circle arrow is a Tim Holtz Grunge Embossed Element that I stained with Cajun Craze then heat embossed with clear EP. The letters are from a retired alpha stamp set from Stampin' Up!, stamped in Not Quite Navy over More Mustard CS. I've also added a bit of texture to the letter with a Club Stamp stamp. To tie everything in, I added the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes on Very Vanilla CS.

Quick project for today: a birthday card for a 2-year-old.

The cute paper is from the So Cute collection by Prima. The big number was die-cut out of my homemade glitter paper with the Bigz Simple Numbers die for the Big Shot.

The polka dot background stamp is from Stampin' Up! and the sentiment and little frog are both from a stamp set by Close to my Heart. I popped almost everything for interesting visual effect.

I had a hard time with this card, I always seem to struggle when doing card for older men. Since I didn't had any stamp that seamed to match the person it's for I decided to use chipboard numbers. Here's what I finally came up with for a 65th birthday. I really stamped a small "happy birthday" as a joke to the need for glasses to read it as you get older !!

I don't do boy's cards often and when I do I usually turn to vibrant greens and blues. But when I saw this patterned paper from Webster's Pages I knew I had the right stuff for this one.

I opted for a 3" X 6" size and the Choo Choo stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I was given an exact sentiment to put on the card and obviously I didn't have the stamp set for that so I printed it from my computer.

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've worked with my punches so today I took them out for a spin. I created this card for a 5-year-old ballerina.

The dress was punched out of my homemade glitter cardstock and the large scallop circle punch.

Oh how I love that little rose from iamroses.com . It completes her outfit so beautifully.

I wanted to personalize the card with an appropriate sentiment so I created it with Word and printed it out.

And to add to Gen's post of yesterday, here's her son William bringing me some Easter cheer... a special bunny cookie he decorated himself. Merci, mon adorable William. Stéphanie fait dire qu'il était vraiment bon (elle me l'a tout mangé!!!)

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone had avery chocolatey easter. We had a 4-day weekend with the kids and we had a lot of fun and a lot of sweets... Since I had so much chocolate to eat I didn't had time to play in my studio. Here's the creations we made this past weekend.

Those rabbits are sugar cookies, so yummy.

The kids decorated the egg shaped sugar cookies themselves with edible food writer. They were very proud to hand them to family members and loved ones telling that they did them themselves (and their crafty mom was even prouder... ;O)

Hi everyone,

I CASEd an old card of mine today. I used ribbon bits to make a 3-layer cake. The whole layout is very simple.

I made the candles with a marker and orange Stickles. In between the layers I added Liquid Appliqué to make puffy icing.

The little sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes from Stampin' Up! A few lines with a marker around the focal image completes the card.

Spring cleaning...

As I was spring cleaning, I found theses little Play-Doh jars leftover from last Halloween, so I decided to dress them up for spring using papers leftovers from my scraproom.

They are really fast to make a 6" X 3/4" strip of paper and a butterfly, so easy. I think I'll make some more for easter treats.

Hi everyone,

I really thought of was done with Easter cards. But to my surprise, today I received a last-minute order for 2 more. Here's one of them:

I totally CASEd this one from Andrea Walford. it's simply made with the Baskets and Blooms Bigz XL die for the Big Shot. Then I used a Serendipity cube stamp (honestly, it's got 4 images on the block!) and the coordinated McGill punch for the eggs.

The paper is Bubblegum Hills from KaiserCraft and the background paper is part of the Subtles DSP pack from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is really old from PrintWorks (1993) - not sure if it's still available. A little faux stitching for a finishing touch and some bling on the egg. Perfect for a little girl!

Hi everyone,

I was invited to an open house party over the weekend. My friend Michelle moved into a new house and she was having a little get-together to celebrate. With me I brought: the husband, a mexican dip, a few bottles of Smirnoff Ice and a handmade card!

This card is mega huge! I used my Cricut Expression and the Mickey and Friends cartridge to cut the house. All the cuts were made at 8-1/2" in a variety of cardstock and dsp, as you can see. Since I'm still relatively new to the Cricut world, it took me a while to figure what function keys to use and what paper to choose. The paper piecing was a bit time consuming but so worth it. The reason for so much pink? Michelle is a HUGE FAN OF PINK AND GLITTER! Even her wedding gown was pink -- ya gotta love her girl like that!

Michelle is also a customer of mine and hired me to do a custom scrapbook of their pictures of Montreal (they are ex-pat's from the UK). So I made a pocket for a gift certificate inside the card. That was a lot of fun to make.

I've got a very quick but classy card for you today. It took me about 5 minutes to put together, including the thinking.

So easy to put together and make multiples with different color schemes! Oh, the possibilities!

A Wedding Card

Hi everyone,

I was asked to make a wedding card and I already had the shell for this one, meaning the background paper in Concord Crush was already laid down.

I was a bit bothered by the intensity of the stripes so I decided to soften it up with a background stamp. The stamp is the word "love" written in different languages. I embossed it with Liquid Platinum EP. I love how it shines.

I also decorated the inside with a stamped sentiment and some bling.

I love the happy couple image on top. I accented it with a rhinestone as well.

The Butterfly and The Medallion

Hi everyone,

Playing with leftover pieces of paper here today. I made do with what I had on my desk, literally. And I'm quite happy with the result!

There's no sentiment on the card because I might give it as a Mother's Day card or a Happy Birthday one. So it's going in my stash as is until I need it.

Both the medallion and the butterfly are from Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden Stamp Set. The medallion was stamped on Whisper White with Always Artichoke from SU and I added pearls in the center. The butterfly was stamped on watercolor paper with Dark Brown Chalk Ink by ColorBox and then embossed with clear EP. I then colored the inside with Twinkling H2O's but it's tough to capture the nice shimmer of it. I also added some pearls in the center of the butterfly.

happy mother's day card

Hi everyone,

I bought this amazing stamp set a few days ago and I couldn't wait to try it out. It's called Impressions No. 14 from the Butterfly Garden Collection by pinkpaislee. All the images are so pretty and perfect for a vintage or a shabby chic look.

The bird cage and flowers were embossed in white over a piece of dsp from K&Co (Chocolate Neopolitan Collection). The sentiment from Women of Life by PapertreyInk was stamped in Dark Brown ColorBox Chalk Ink and clear embossed. The decorative corners were done with the Scallop Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper by We R Memory Keepers.

I added some pearls randomly on the polka dots to create more texture. Aren't those images gorgeous?

I bought the pads at Staples and got them cut in halves. Since I have a lot, I made multiples.

THe teapot was stamped in Black Stazon on watercolor paper and aquapainted with the watercolor wonders from Stampin' Up!

Here's another card I made with Inky Antics' Monkey HoneyPOP set.

Hee-hee, I just love how the monkey pops out of that window. I stamped the image on Crumb Cake CS and colored him with Prismacolor pencils. The background paper is from the So Cute Prima collection. Love the colors!

Isn't this fun?! I can totally make tons of those and give them to kids.

Inky Antics and Honey Pop Card

Hi everyone,

Back from a trip to my local scrapbook store and my bag is full of crafting goodness. Amongst the goodies are these new products by Inky Antics. First, the stamp set "Cupcake Birdy HoneyPOP" is fun and chock full of birthday sentiments. Then, the HoneyPOP paper in 5 different colors.

So the top of the card is fairly innocent... quite simple...

But look at the little surprise inside! Isn't this fun? The stamp set includes shapes that you stamp on the HoneyPOP pad and then cut out to create a cupcake.

I added clear micro beads to the cherry on top of the card because it wouldn't be a real birthday card without bling or beads :-)

Party OWL Night

Hi everyone,

When making personalized greeting cards, it's sometimes challenging to find the proper sentiment. This card below is for a 17-year-old girl who loves to party. I didn't really have anything in my stamp collection that would fit (yeah, hard to believe!). So I used my computer and printer and came up with my own sentiment.

The photo above is a little too light but I didn't have time to fiddle around with it too much. I wanted the title to be vanilla to match the color of the background paper but obviously printing in this color was out of the question. So I created a text box and filled it with Tempting Turquoise using an RGB code and selected the Very Vanilla RGB code for the text. Success!

I'm laughing at the above picture because if you look closely at the rhinestone you can see my reflection taking the picture through the opening of the light box. LOL

Easter bunny

Hi everyone,

For today's card I was inspired by the pop-up standing card that CeeCee made here. I wanted to make one too. Easter bunny was an obvious choice for me, so here's what I came up with:

It magically pops up !! I simply followed the tutorial of Kim score on SCS for the base of the card. The bunny was created by mixing 3 differents punch art bunnies from web.

beary 1st birthday wishes

Hi everyone,

I had this image (from the stamp set Beary Best Friends by Stampin' Up!) in my pile for a while and it was even matted to another print... it didn't work for me so I decided to revamp it and do some paper piecing.

The dress was stamped on a piece of DSP (retired from SU) and layered over the watercolored image. I did the same for the gift bag.

I blinged the dress and the bag with Dazzling Diamonds.

The balloon is actually stamped directly unto a piece of handmade glitter paper then cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. The number one is from a set of die-cuts from Basic Grey.

Hi everyone,

Yesterday my dear friends Marie-Pierre and Catherine came over for dinner and we really had a blast. Since I was working, I could follox them to their Shopping spree to the scrapbook store :O( But they brought me the cutest 6X6 paper pack, it's from Jillibean soup and it's called Spotted owl thanks so much girl for that thoughtfull gift and for that amazing night, love you a lot. Here's the card I created playing with my new toys :

Since I really wanted the focus to be on those cute owl I kept the rest very minimal, CS punched circles, a button and a simple and classic sentiment.

keeping track of supplies

Hi everyone,

When you're a compulsive collector like me, it's no surprise that it extends to your hobby. In my case, it's everything that has to do with arts and crafts. But you accumulate so much paper, stamps, markers and all kinds of fun and colorful goodies... and then you lose track of it all. Then you buy duplicates and feel stupid for doing so... you give some away ... Does that sound familiar?!

One of my fav things to do is, without a doubt, organizing my craft room and my supplies. I've been wanting to start this project for a couple of years now but always put it off because there were always more pressing matters to attend. Well, I cracked last week. I did it! I've started my Little Inventory Book of Arts & Crafts Supplies. And I love it so much!

The base of my book is a Sara Binder from Hot Off the Press. It's a small raw chipboard 3-ring binder. I painted the spine and sides with a Ranger Dauber and covered the top, bottom and inside covers with old Basic Grey patterned paper (gotta use your stash!).

The chipboard letters were also painted with a dauber then covered with Crystal Effects. The flower next to the title was put there to cover up a stain -- it wasn't my intention to have something there. The Sara Binder system also has dividers, ruled sheets, plain sheets and envelopes. I used my label maker to type the names of the dividers.

Here's an example of one of the items I keep track of. Oooooh, aren't those colors pretty?

I love my little book and it's small enough to fit in my purse. I took it for a test drive today and bought one bottle of Stickles and 2 bottles of Liquid Pearls that were missing to complete my collection. Love it!!! And I'm always referring to the embossing section to see which powder I'm going to use since I know exactly how it's going to look like by looking at my swatches.

It's a work in progress and when it's all done, I'll do a show-&-tell video. Stay tuned!

wedding bells for the newlyweds

Wow, I got so involved in what I've been doing for the part few days that I completely forgot to post yesterday! Here's a wedding card that I managed to squeeze in.

I used some wedding papers I bought a long long long time ago for a wedding album project; it's a DCWV paper pack called Wedding Prints. The rest is pretty simple... some light pink Bazzill CS that I had lying around, a little bit of green moss to highlight the stamped image and a scallop square mat.

Where I had the most fun was with experimenting with my Twinkling H2o's to color the image. I first embossed it in silver than I colored in with Pink Cloud, Moss Green and Oyster. I also added a bit of silver Prismacolor pencils on the tolls of the bells. I love the shimmer of the H2o's.

Hi everyone,

Today, I got to play with a different color combo: perfect plum, dark pink and fluorescent green. My inspiration was the polka-dot paper in the background. This is my last Easter card made for a customer and I'm itchin' to move on to another theme. It was fun while it lasted but I'm so done with it now :-)

The girl image is a Magnolia stamp borrowed from my friend Angelle and the bench and flowers are two of my own stash, all from Magnolia. I love the fact that they have sitting characters that are separate from other elements making it easy to layer the images. The tulips were stamped directly on the white CS and the bench and girl were stamped separately, colored, than cut out.

When coloring the hair, I ran into some problems with my brown Copic marker so the left side of her hair is a little bit muddled. Instead of fiddling around with it by using the colorless blender, I decided to leave it alone. I'm going to investigate to see if other people have had a similar problem... it seems that my E49 started pooling on the paper but only after I've finished coloring the bench and the right side of the hair. hmm.... So this image is entirely colored with Copics except for the shadows under the bench and the grass line -- those were done with Prismacolor pencils and OMS.

I accented the stamped flowers on the hat by adding 3 punched flowers out of my homemade glitter paper and added a rhinestone in the middle. This card is definitely very dimensional.

This is how I've added the sentiment inside the card. It's from Stampin' Up!'s Well Scripted set. I added some rhinestones for interest.

A very simple card. Whenever I do a lot of coloring, I always love to keep the layout very basic and the card clean, because it emphasise even more the hard work I put in it...

I stamped this flower pot from a gift for you hostess level 1 stamp set from SU! in brown stazon on watercolor paper and then simply added life by using my watercolor wonder crayons and an aquapainter.

Hi everyone,

Sometimes I feel the need to do monochromatic work. But monochromatic doesn't have to be boring. I quite like the big polka dot paper -- it's fresh and funky!

The house stamp, though, was too uni-dimensional to me. So I first stamped it with Pear Pizzazz ink on Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Then I stamped the same image with VersaMark ink and embossed it in white. By cutting out just the houses and adhering it over the 1st stamped image with Stampin' Dimensionals, it brought the image to life.

A few rhinestones and Poppy Parade ribbon brings the eye directly to the focal image. It came together in a snap!

Hi everyone,

Another Easter card for you today. This is a little Magnolia girl and I love her so much. I kept it simple because I wanted the image to be the focus.

The paper in the background is from Stampin' Up!'s Nursery Suite Specialty DSP but I thought the little bunnies were so appropriate for an Easter card. The ruffle around the image is actually a retired ribbon that's glued from behind with a hot glue gun.

The image is almost entirely colored with Prismacolor pencils. Of course, I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Card for a Friend

Hi everyone,

Once in a while, you make a card that you're really proud of. I really like to make cards with a white background -- I don't do it often enough.

The starting point was to white emboss the script image (Tim Holtz "Shabby French") on watercolor paper. Then I added blobs of Distress ink in Bundled Sage on an acrylic stamping block, spritzed it with water and stamped over my whole piece of watercolor paper. I love that effect.

The leaves and butterfly (Stampin' Up!'s Great Friend stamp set) were stamped using a mix of Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey and some water. Another great effect! I saw this technique on the Hero Arts website this week. The stamped sentiment is also from Great Friend.

Here's a close-up of the butterfly. Because the butterfly a little lost amidst the leaves and background, I took a marker and went around it. I also added some pearls for a softer look.

Hi everyone,

Here's today project, I saw on Lynn Put's blog and I had to make one for myself, than it all degenerated into a entire family...

I called them THE RAINBOWS sorry for the bad joke, but as you can tell, IM desesperatly in need for some colors, I just can't take anymore snowflakes for this year.

I used sizzix pillow box die along with 3/4 and 1 1/4 circle punches, large oval and trio of hearts SU! punches. I then added a little bling for the reflection of light in their eyes.

sweet little girl easter card

Hi everyone,

I've been busy last weekend coloring a bunch of little Magnolia girls for Easter cards. I love, love, love coloring; it's my favorite activity. There's something so engrossing about it. I totally lose myself in it to the point where I don't hear anything around me.

Here's one I colored with Copic markers:

The blue and green shadowing around the image was made using my Prismacolor pencils, OMS and a paper stump. I also added a few strokes with my white gel pen. Usually, I shadow my images with a black pencil but I decided not to this time.

I also added a few clusters of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the background image. I really like my little girl. The image was cut out with a Nestabilities die and matted with another one.

Wonderful Mother

I know it's a little early to think about Mother's Day cards but I have a few customers that are terribly organized in their card-giving ways. Here's a Mother's Day card that I made using PapertreyInk design paper and a lovely hand-crocheted flower.

I love the Aqua Mist and Spring Moss combo. So fresh and springy. And that flower with the bling that I've added in the center gives it that special punch of color.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Well Scripted stamp set.

Mother's Day Card

Hi everyone,

Sometimes I make a card that I'm really proud of ... so proud that I can't help but CASE-ing it ... over and over again. LOL I did it again today for a Mother's Day card. I say the DSP is the star of the show as well as its colors.

The only thing that differs from my original design is the sentiment that I printed from my computer for a customer of mine. I love making personalized sentiments for a special touch and I know that the recipients get a kick out of that.

The sentiment was punched out with the Word Window Punch and cut at one end. I love the layering effect.

Meet today's card, aren't those hot air buttons cute?? I've been looking with envy this stamp set for a while now. It's called everyday button bits from Paper Trey Ink... I finally got to play with it last weekend, not mine CeeCee's, but i'll get mine soon.

I really love the mountain and the clouds I made inking under the pressusre with some expert's eyes lloking over my shoulder...It's always fun when we take time to create and eat strawberry cupcakes together.

Easter Wagon Card

Hi everyone,

I know Easter is 2 months away but I crave the colors so I'm glad I have a few commissions for Easter cards. This one has a lot of layers and uses multiple stamp sets. I stamped the main part of the wagon twice and cut out the 3 planks and then popped them with foam adhesive. The grass is punched out of the reverse side of the DSP with the Martha Stewart border punched and popped up as well. So was the sentiment.

As you can see from the photo below, I stamped the eggs by masking the first and second one. Then I clear embossed them by over them with a VersaMarker and clear embossing powder. To give the metallic look to the nails, handle and wheels of the wagon I colored them with a Zip pen.

Are-You-Ready-4-Spring Card

Hi everyone,

I don't know about you but I'm just about done with winter. I say enough with the snow -- give us back the leaves in our trees and the flowers in our yards! Just to get me in the mood, I made 2 spring/easter cards.

I really don't remember what the paper company is; I'm thinking American Crafts but I can't be sure because the piece was already cut off. I love stamping but sometimes it's nice to take a break from it and let the DSP speaks. That's exactly what I did here. I only added ribbon, a flower and a decorative brad. Pretty simple and quick.

I stamped Happy Easter inside the card and a large egg on the envelopes. Those envelopes, by the way, are custom made since the cards are 6" X 6" and I didn't have any that fit the measurements. I used the Martha Stewart scoring board to make the envelopes and I added 2 strips of sticky tape to the inside of the laps. Those are going to a customer of mine and she'll only have to remove to seal the envelopes and ship those cards out.

Aaaah, those colors are like a breath of fresh air to me.

Going digital ?!

Hi everyone,

I'm trying a new thing today, digital scrapbooking, here's my first attemp. The template was from Ali Edward which made my job a lot more easier. Theorically, I just added photos and patterned paper, but because I'm also learning to use photoshop at the same time, sometimes really stupid things like this outiline title, took me at least an hour to create, but i'll get faster for sure...I hope !!

The first thing I fell in love with in digital scrapbooking, is that you can pick any color from your photos and paint your own paper for an exact perfect match. I picked out the pink from my daugther shoes to make my pink strips of digital paper, so easy and perfect...

Welcome to the World, Baby!

Hi everyone,

You know sometimes you make a card and you're somewhat happy with it but there's a little something that keeps bothering you and you're not totally satisfied with it? This is the story of that card. I was really happy with the focal image -- a montage of stamped items. I was also quite happy with the coloring but the rest of the card was puzzling me. It didn't feel balanced. Nevertheless, I posted it a few months ago and put it aside.

And then I get a request for a baby card. So I took a look at it again and decided to recycle it and I'm much happier now! The stamp set used is Stampin' Up!'s Baby Bundle.

I like the white space created by taking off the top part of the card. The eyes really fall on the baby pram now. And yes, there is a blurred part on the oval tag...

... to protect the full name of the baby. But I really like the idea of putting the baby's full name on the front of the card, as requested by my client.

And staying true to my recent decision, I decorated the inside of the card -- actually it's part of the accent that was on the front! I use and amazing liquid called Un-du to remove anything I want to unglue and this stuff is amazing. It doesn't leave any residue nor discolor the paper. It's also safe for pictures! I get it from my LSS but I'm sure you can find it online as well.

All I added is a little bit of bling with dazzling diamonds and the two-way glue.

Special Big Sister

Hi everyone,

I've been doing more and more personalized work recently and it feels me with a sense of satisfaction knowing that the card I just made will find its way to someone special.

I loved working on this card. This Magnolia stamp was so perfect for a Big Sister card and I had no idea I had it until I started looking through my stamp collection -- does this mean I have too many? The "Big Sister" sticker is the think that set the color combo. It comes from a paper pack by K&Co from a long time ago. So I just chose my Copic markers according to the paper pack. The rest of the sentiment was made on my computer. I also stitched the mat with my little sewing machine.

Of course, big sister needs her bling as well! I added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the wings of the sister and the baby.

I also started decorating the inside of my cards as well as the envelope. Just an added touch that makes it even more special.

It's Tea Time!

Hi everyone,

It was on Saturday here in Montreal and I was inspired to make something that would keep me warm. When I saw this project created by Sophia Landry, I knew I had to try and make one for myself (although I had to tweak the measurements to accommodate my brand of tea bags).

I love the color combination of the the Nook & Pantry paper from Basic Grey and it will fit perfectly with the color scheme in my kitchen (see how it matched one of my teapots in the back?!). The CS I used for the base of my dispenser is Wild Wasabi... again a perfect match for the DSP.

The focal image is from a PapertreyInk stamp set Tea for Two. I stamped it with Memento's Rich Cocoa ink on Stampin' Up!'s Naturals White CS and cut around it. The retired Crushed Curry ribbon from Stampin' Up! is an exact match with the yellow in the DSP.

The design resembles some of the tea boxes you can buy at any store and the wide opening at the bottom makes it easy to refill. I love it! -- Thanks Sophia!

I decided to make my own embellishment for the top out of lace ribbon I got at my local dollar store. I ran a stitch along the top of the ribbon and gathered the ends to make a multi-tiered ruffle.

I added beads in the center and some leaves out of Wild Wasabi CS. To add some dimension to my leaves, I scored down the middle of each with a bone folder.

Today I decided to let myself be inspired by those challenges, Color Throwdown #129 and Mojo Monday sketch # 178.

Here's what I came up with:

I simply stamped the image from Hero arts on Whisper white paper, colored in the challenge colors with ink and a blender pen.Then I simply followed what the sketch was asking for pairing it with some october afternoon patterned paper and early espresso, baja blue and pear pizzaz CS from SU!.

Hi everyone,

I've finally had a chance to play with some of the newest Stampin' Up!'s products for the Occasions Mini Catalog. Here's a card I made with the Create a Cupcake stamp set and the Build a Cupcake punch.

How fun! The scalloped circle is from the Scallop Circle #2 die for the Big Shot. The background paper is from the Nursery Suite DSP. I separated the two words of the sentiment adding the "st" to the candle that acts as the number one.

Of course, no little princess should be without glitter so I added some Stickles to the frosting and the candle. A cute little bow tied from a piece of pink seam binding completes the card.

Today I made a very easy "Happy belly" card. I stamped pregabella on watercolor paper, colored it with aquapainter and classic ink. Then I simply mounted her on monochomatic squares of patterned paper. I little ribbon and ...DONE!

For a Funky Mother

Hi everyone,

I swear sometimes I feel like I'm suffering from split personalities. Yesterday's project was all shabby chic and today.... THIS !

Is there a cure for this?! This card is so far away from the frame of mind I was in yesterday. It's all about poppin' vibrant colors and I quite like it. The main color is Melon Mambo and the border at the bottom was punched with a Martha Stewart punch (large double punch arches combo set). I created the background with an image from SU's Fifth Avenue Floral that I repeated, masking along the way to create a grouping of flowers. The image was inked with Whisper White Craft Ink and outlined with a Copic marker (#RV19). I didn't come up with this technique; I saw it on Nichole Heady's blog. I lovedhow it turned out.

Of course, I had to add some bling. The sentiment was first stamped with Versamark over a piece of vellum then heat embossed it in white. The two score lines at the top and bottom of the vellum helps to mask the score tape underneath (another idea I stole from Nichole!).

So now I just have to find a funky mom to give this to on Mother's Day!

A "Hearty" Wish

Hi everyone,

Since Valentine's Day is not a holiday that is celebrated in my household, I decided to honor it in my own way. I made myself an inspirational heart to hang in my craft room. My main tool for this was SU's Petal Cone Bigz Die for the Big Shot. When you use this die, you're supposed to cut 2 of this heart shape and it has crease lines to assemble your cone. As it turns out, when you cut only 1 shape you end up with a heart! And this is how I've decided to use it.

I used a retired DSP for the heart and backed it up with a piece of cardboard for reinforcement. I added Champagne Glass Glitter around the heart and inside the circle shape with some liquid glue to make it look vintage.

The "wings" around the circle is actually a scallop half-circle from the same die that I cut in half and adorned with half-back pearls. The ribbon is a long piece of seam binding in Very Vanilla that I sprayed with water and crinkled in my hand for a more vintage look. I let it dry and it stayed wrinkled. I love the effect. The double bow is tied in the middle with a piece of baker's twine.

The resin flower is a new SU product and I'm absolutely in love with it.

The sentiment and circle image is from CTMH. I love that quote and accented it with tiny sticky back pearl. This little piece of art will be hanging in my craft room -- which reminds me that I'll need to paint my walls because it doesn't fit with my recent projects! LOL

Today I decided to play along with the colour Q challenge #70, the colours are so yummy and also purfect for a Valentine's card, my first this year.

Here's my creation:

The birds are from the Love you much stamp set from Stampin' up!

The rounded flags were created very simply by folding a DSP punched circle in half over a linen thread. I adhered them with dimensionnals for a more realistic effect.

Hi everyone,

I really do like intricate work; it seems to relax me. This is certainly true about the work I did on today's card. It's a birthday card with a hidden message inside the little beaded envelope. It all started with a big roll of Scor-tape I bought last year. The roll is 4-1/2" large and contains about 50 feet of sturdy adhesive.

I first layered a piece of DSP with the Scor-tape then ran the whole piece through my Big Shot with the Scallop Tag die. Then I exposed the other side of the Scor-Tape and dropped a whole bunch of clear glass beads all over. The last things was to fold in three to create an envelope.

Inside the envelope is a the 2nd part of the quote from Stampin' Up!'s new Create a Cupcake stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. The beaded envelope is held together by a piece of ribbon wrapped around the front around a corduroy brad. Very simple.

I bought a bottle of Liquid Pearls in Cantaloupe. I love their newest colors and they seemed to have changed the formula. It is more dimensional that its previous batch. I used it all around the card and inside the circle. I love the effect and the color -- it's not too orange and picks up pumpkin pie and regal rose perfectly.

Inside, I used remnants from the tag, beaded them and put the two strips at the bottom and top of the white mat.

Raggedy Ann Valentine's Day Card

Hi everyone,

Today's project was CASEd from SCS (a Kim Score project). The structure of the card is a pop-up slider card. It was a lot of fun to make, but quite tedious. Nevertheless, I love how it turned out.

Here's what it looks like when it's standing up, with the help of a nifty cardstock mechanism. You just pull on the little blinged out heart and it slides. The background paper was embossed with hearts. At the forefront, a Raggedy Ann doll made with punched shapes.

And the view when it's closed. It is designed to be same size as an A2 card.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I used it again to create this one, I changed everything but the layout, here's what it now looks like:

I often forget about grey, but after using it here, I will definitively try to use it more often.

To change the layout a llittle, I simply rotated the second page.

This choo choo stamp set from Stampin' up! is so adorable, and most of all perfect for my layout!!

Purr-fect for Valentine's Day !

Hi everyone,

I love making Valentine's Day card because it makes me reach for my reds and pinks which are two colors I don't really use all that often. Here's a card I made for a 3-year-old.

The stamp is a Penny Black on (Best Letter) that I have in my stash for over 5 years. It's cute and perfect for a little girl. I punched the heart with my Heart #1 die and my Big Shot... the stamped image peaks through the heart.

Of course, this type of card wouldn't be complete without a little bling... some Dazzling Diamonds for good measure! The image is colored with Copic Markers.
